The CFEI Re-certification Program

Re-certification Frequently Asked Questions

To insure that Certified Fire and Explosion Investigators (CFEI) certified by the National Certification Board remain current with the theoretical and technological advancements in the field of fire and explosion investigation and analysis, the National Certification Board requires re-certification every five years based upon the applicant’s original date of certification.

Reminders and instructions will be mailed out at least one year prior to re-certification due dates. This will allow ample time to fulfill the required re-certification criteria. Re-certification is required, those that do not comply will be in danger of loosing their Certification.
CFEI re-certification will be granted only to those applicants meeting the re-certification criteria written by the National Certification Board of the National Association of Fire Investigators.
